 The
Evolution of ‘Guerilla Wearfare’
The Havana on the Hudson Company is dedicated to exploring the Latino bicultural
American psyche. We are the progeny of an emergent Latino claim on the American
imaginary.
Fortified by demographic growth and fully armed with a conscious
sense of history and identity, our T-shirts are the global agent provocateur
of Latino cultural dispersal.
Each design is representative of a critical
Latino gaze with which to re-envision traditional Latin and American symbols,
signs and cultural products. Because wearing a printed t-shirt is a viable
way to make a statement, it is important it be worn LOUD
¡Viva La Evolución!

Originally
conceived by a trio of working mothers - a teacher, a lawyer and
a psychotherapist - "Los Abuelitos" are sweet, loveable,
lullaby singing dolls who invite you to join them on a nostalgic
journey as they sing "canciones de cuna", the traditional Hispanic
songs of early childhood.
Grandparents, parents and even older children will reminisce over the sounds
and feelings of their younger days and a new generation of young children will
have the opportunity to create memories of their own.

Artist
Tony Mendoza was born in New York to Cuban parents, but raised
in the Little Havana neighborhood of Miami. This guy's work is
so vibrant and colorful! He intimately captures the daily life
of Little Havana with style and best of all, a great sense of humor.
I Cuban.com Magazine - Three Guys from Miami - November 2003
Tony commenced his artistic endeavors by painting the colorful
and historic homes of his childhood neighborhood of Little Havana,
and bringing his art to the public at Cultural Fridays on Calle
Ocho. His unique and whimsical renderings led to many commissions
of house portraits throughout South Florida and eventually the
rest of the country. Inspired by his activity in Little Havana
he has created several collections of humorous vignettes depicting
life and commerce in this vibrant section of Miami. These paintings
show the love he has for the city and its inhabitants with their
quirky and colorful lifestyles and customs.

Welcome to my website. It's a pleasure to
have you as my guest. I hope you take the time to browse through my gallery
section which will show you the diversity in my art.
I am an artist who believes that transition
and flexibility are necessary elements in order for an artist to grow and
remove themselves from a position of stagnation. Allow the work to speak to
you and say what it may. View it with an open mind. It is a visual journey
that can touch on many levels of the subconscious.
I offer original works of art, as well as
limited edition, hand-signed and sealed giclées
in selected sizes. I also paint original, one-of-a-kind works of art based
on images or ideas created by the owner.
